Thank you everyone for their replies <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> It helped alot!!
They said she can watch a dvd whilst in there, so hopefully that will take her mind off of everything.
She doesnt have it till February next year.
Vitamin D deficiency is one of the causes of hyperparathyroidism.
So she has been put on 50 000 iu of vitamin D, it is creeping back up very slowly.

Does anyone know of any natural ways to relieve pain?
We saw the doc yesterday as she has been having very bad stomach pains for a week now.
I hate seeing her in pain, I just want to yank it all away from her!!
we asked the doc for an alternative to panadol (as panadol is absorbed through the liver)
He said she can use Nurofen (ibuprofen, which goes through the kidneys instead of the liver)
so its a toss up between affecting the liver or the kidneys.
So I would love to hear of alternative pain reliever methods that people have tried.
