I know this was serious, but it made me smile at the dog stories...why is it that when you are trying to go on a trip, something happens at last minute to delay you? Once I was getting the kids ready to go visit my mom, and the dog had some surrs in his ears, so I was cutting them out and he jerked and I sliced his ear open--blood everywhere at midnight!!!! Had to shell out xtra $$$ for emergency surgery...*sigh...
