Definitely, you can be allergic to lots of things coming from animals like dander, saliva or even urine! Also, some breeds bring in a lot of seeds and grass inside on their fur.

Definitely, you can be allergic to lots of things coming from animals like dander, saliva or even urine! Also, some breeds bring in a lot of seeds and grass inside on their fur.

I have a shih tzu. He's such an amazing little guy (just 7 months old). They are small, really easy to train and do not shed. I'm so in love with Griffin - he was a surprise Christmas gift. I can't even begin to get in to how theraputic he is <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

As far as I know only poodles, miniature & standard schnauzers and bichon frise are considered to be "hypoallergenic" breeds. I am allergic to dogs but my miniature schnauzer doesn't bother my allergies at all. He has been a great dog, doesn't shed a bit, very smart and easily trained. As a kid we had poodles and schnauzers, both are great!
