DOUBLE Lung Transplant

<img src="i/expressions/brokenheart.gif" border="0"> OK so my lil big brother in on a DOUBLE Lung transplant. He lives in BC (British Columbia, Canada). He is the only one in BC that is waiting for a double transplant. He is 29yrs young and I was wondering what he chances are/should be? Because he is sooooooooo young what are his chances of a long?? and happy life?

Your brother has a great chance for a healthy future. Hopefully the wait will not be too long.

The success of lung transplant has some to do with the drugs that they are put on, but also that the patient follows the tx team's plan. Taking meds, follow up visits, doing therapies and treatments that are needed. Also avoiding, or taking precautions around sick people so that he does not catch an infection that might effect him.

I am 8.5 years post tx and use lots of common sense and Purell!!!
