Absolutely.  I think it all has to do with our subconscious
and what we have to deal with surfaces in our dreams.  We
handle a lot more than other people do.  Perhaps that
reflects, even in our sleep.

I have dreams that my teeth are falling out, But they are crumbling in my mouth so wen i grind them big chunks of tooth are in my mouth and i spit them out but theres more, Its horriable. When i was young i used to dream i was babysitting a friend and there was fire only a little one in the corner but i couldnt get to it and stamp it out and it was soreading but i just couldnt get to it and it was getting bigger. ALSO i used to dream very often wen i was young that in our old house we had a huge apple tree ( this parts true) and my family are sitting in the conservatory while im plaing in the garden with our dog we had, Then (and this parts the weired bit) a man that was the man from the labrythnth david bowie walk thru our gate and starts throwing apples at me and i run to the shed and get on top of the shed roof and i scream at my family but they laugh and carry on and he keeps throwing apples at me and it hurts and they keep laughing i keep screaming and he keeps throwing weired huh! Now im engaged to a fireman who i love but i hate apples and never ever touch them!!!! LOL

I've had bad dreams for a long time, the worst ones started when I
was 8. You don't want details. But at that time, I didn't know
I had CF. I didn't know until I was 14. Now, the interesting thing
is, that my dreams stopped after about a year, and progressively
got less and less bad during that time (when I was 9), and
started up again after I was diagnosed and haven't stopped. They
increase in frequency if i'm sick, but follow a pattern of
suffocation dreams. (Buried in sand, pillows held to my face,
plastic over my nose and mouth, drowning in water only
occasionally) If I wasn't sick, they were painful, nasty,
things-you-don't-want-to-hear dreams. (I can talk about them, and
I'm alright with them after I write them in a dream journal. If
anyone is really interested in details, send me a private message
and we can talk.) So I don't know if it's related to CF or not. But
that's just my experience.<br>

This is mainly for Pammie. I just wanted to say that I was talking to a friend of mine a while back - she was a therapist and has studied dream symbology and things of that nature.

I was asking her about a dream I had been having where I would walk up to an intersection - look both ways see no cars and then start to cross. As soon as I would get both my feet on the asphalt they would melt into the ground and become almost cemented to the pavement. I could barely walk and it would take all of my strength to lift one foot and swing it forward (using both hands) then the next and back and forth until I got to the other side of the street. Every time I had this dream I would get about halfway and I would see a car in the distance and I would end up getting off the road right as the car was about to hit me. She explained that to me - as I was dealing with an obstable in my life - I felt bogged down and I was struggling to handle it on my own (as in the dream there were people all around staring at me but no one was helping). She said that it would be hard to get past - but that I would get past it and overcome the issue (symbolic of my getting to the other side of the road without getting hit by the car). Ultimately I did get past the issue.

Anyway that is a little off topic of what I was going to say. I was going to say that in that conversation she asked me if I had ever had dreams of my teeth falling out. She said it was one of the most common dreams for people to have - of either their teeth falling out, crumbling in their mouth, breaking or anything like that. She said it happens alot when something is going on that makes you self conscious or give you a reason to doubt yourself or have low self esteem. She said that most everyone has the dream at least once. It is more rare to come across someone that has NOT had a dream involving their teeth falling out, breaking, crumbling than it is to find someone that has experience that.

Just thought I would share that with you. I have actually had a dream that my teeth wearing falling out once - it was actually within the past year - I think for me it was more prompted by her suggestion of dreaming that though because it happened shortly after my talk with her lol.
