Dry weather

I have been off and on using a humidifier for the dry weather. But I freak out thinking about the bacterial issues, so I have to wash it like crazy after each use and it has just become a pain.
I am wondering if I am worrying too much. I am wondering if there are other options for the stuffy noses. I was just thinking about nasal saline, but I have no clue what to use for the boys and if that would actually do anything. Please help.....if you think nasal saline would be the best, what would I use with Caleb 14 months and how is best done in a non-traumatic manner.

Blessings,
Missa

I have this same problem with my son. The doctor did recommend saline nasal spray, you can use it often (we do 2 squirts each nostril, 3-4 times a day).

We use Simply Saline because its like an aerosol spray instead of a bottle with a nozzle that you squeeze, so it doesn't suck germs back into the bottle. Don't know if that makes sense but you'll see what I mean if you buy it. Someone here recommended it. And its a very fine mist as well.

My son was a little afraid at firts so I let him spray it a few times. He actually thinks its very funny now, it tickles his nose.

Just be sure to buy the one that is just sterile saline nasal mist, with nothing added.

We also used simply saline -- had used the other stuff, but got the backwash affect. And once DS was old enough -- I was AMAZED at how well sinus rinses worked for him. Got a LOT of that crud out of his nose. We started when he was 4, but think others were able to get their children to do so when they were a bit younger.
