I just got the e-flow about a week ago as part of the Aztreanam study. I do love it! Any of you that have one out there please help or offer advice. The study guidelines say to clean it after every use with soap and water and then once a week with the solution they give you. Every once in a while when I do a treatment the mist icon will come on and the tretment will go for about 20 seconds and then stop misting even though the mist icon then will stay on for another 15 or 20 seconds before I get the thumbs up. I am doing my very best to clean this thing. I don't want to waste the med and find out that the thing is not clean enough cuz the med goes to waste when that happens. Do you think I could test it with some HS or something less valuable like IV saline! The study says not to use ANYTHING in the neb besides AL. Please help! I am really interested in hearing from people who are a part of the AL study.

That's funny. I was never given a solution for my eFlow. I was just told soap and water and then I could run it through the dishwasher as well. And also to soak the "head" in alcohol once in awhile. Do you go through IV Solutions? I think there's another pharmacy out there that deals with the eFlow, so maybe you use the other one. Not sure why it's doing the beeping thing though. If it continues, call the pharmacy. I had a bad eFlow once and I had to return it for a new one because it just kept shutting off on me.

No beeping?? I am not sure where you read that. I got my e-flow through Gilead. They are the ones doing the AL study. Wow,soaking the head in alcohol. No, they didn't say anything about that. The solution they gave me is a respiratory solution. I am just concerned that it does not mist as long as it should at times. The mist picture is on the computer screen but the misting has stopped about 15-20 seconds before the thumbs up come on.

It wont mist for all that long but, when it stops it is still getting mist in you (its not done till it beeps) so yes that is normal...unless you dont clean it well. Mine has started taking longer b/c I have been using it for the last two cycles of AL.

And the solution they give you...***this is new with the second phase of the study*** (they did NOT give it me before), it should be good enough or better than alcohol. Its obviously some sort of alcohol related solution b/c I can smell it when I mix it. Did your eflow come with a disk? I would advise watching it...if it didnt let me know and i can try to burn it or email for you. It tells you exactly what to do and shows someone using the machine. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

It wont mist for all that long but, when it stops it is still getting mist in you (its not done till it beeps) so yes that is normal...unless you dont clean it well. Mine has started taking longer b/c I have been using it for the last two cycles of AL.

And the solution they give you...***this is new with the second phase of the study*** (they did NOT give it me before), it should be good enough or better than alcohol. Its obviously some sort of alcohol related solution b/c I can smell it when I mix it. Did your eflow come with a disk? I would advise watching it...if it didnt let me know and i can try to burn it or email for you.
