Ear Infections

I'm wondering if anyone else gets ear infections. It's not something they've ever focused on in clinic, but it seems like it could be CF related. From my first doctors visit at a week and a half old till I was about 8, I almost always had an ear infection along with several rounds of tubes during this period.

Now, in my late 20s, I still get 1-2 ear infections a year. Is this just random? Seperate issue, or a product of CF??

No big worry, they're just annoying.

I had them all of the time when I was a child .... they waned when I started getting lung infections about age 12. This was before the time of ear tubes, otherwise I bet I would've had them at least a couple of times. My ear drums are very scarred.

I got them until I was about 16-18ish - a lot longer than most kids do. I haven't had an ear infection in at least 10 years though.

My ears are so messed up..I used to get ear infections at least 3 times a year from when I was born until maybe when I was 13. I still get tubes in my ears at least 1-2 times a year. My first set was when I was 18months and I am now 24. My left eardrum was so scarred and the hole from the tube didn't heal to I had a tympanoplasty, where they skin graphed and made a new eardrum...baaad surgery.

I guess now they don't treat ear infections with antibiotics, just eardrops right? If you still get them I would go to an ENT doc or have your CF doc look in there to make sure there's no fluid.

Good luck, gosh I remember how bad those hurt!

i don't get ear infections much anymore, but when i was a kid i
would get them alot. in fact the doctors believe that an ear
infection i had when i was a baby is the reason why i'm deaf in my
right ear. i also lost about 70% of my hearing in my left ear, but
not from an infection. the doctors say my left ear(middle or
inner, can't remember) did not fully develop

I remembering having one as a child & I had one when I was about 20. The one when I was 30 hurt like hell & I truly had compassion for these infants that are prone to them! No more since tho (knock on wood)!
