eflow cleaning is easy

Okay, I have had the eflow for a couple weeks and let me tell you its not hard to clean. It still working great and my dosing times are still short.

Clean like the instructions say, rinsing with soap and warm tap water. Then dump the pieces into two separate containers containing 70 percent isopropyl alchohol. Do this twice a day. The alcohol only takes 30 min tops to dry. It will be sterile after soaking it in the alcohol. The head portion goes in a separate bowl of alcohol and the alcohol needs to be changed weekly. It takes less than five minutes.

So they told you, that you could keep the alcohol for a week and use the same bowl, cup, whatever, twice a day for a whole week?

Are you using it for the aztreonam study or pulmo?

I do the alcohol once a week, and then use tap water between...and Ive never noticed a difference, but I'm think I should change the way I do things. hmmmm...

I use it for colistin, and pulmo. You have to understand, there are so many different instructions out there for cleaning the eflow. I got two different sets with my kit. The third, I read on foundcare.com. I believe it was foundcare who said to use alcohol every day, but they didn't say twice a day. I'm doing it twice so it is sterile for both uses. The pharmacist and the specialty pharmacy where I get the meds and eflow told me to change the alcohol once a week. I also put a top on the plastic containers. Using the alcohol twice a day is my idea.

No, I soak it in alcohol in between uses, 10-12 hours, then usually i let it dry for 1-2 hours. Less time drying in the morning. While I am waiting for it to dry I use my vest for an hour or two while watching tv or reading.

I let it dry for 1-2 hrs, but it probably doesn't take that long. The rubber blue piece, for whatever reason, seems to take longer to dry. Shake off the alcohol good before letting it air dry.
