In April I went to my cf doctor armed with statistics and info from Amy's blog on the eflow thinking that I would have a fight on my hands trying to convince my doctor to prescribe the eflow for me. He already was up on the eflow and was open to me acquiring one. I didn't have to talk him into it at all.
I have never been on inhaled Tobi. With the eflow I have begun taking tobramycin 170 mg/ 3.4 ml twice a day every other month. I acquired my free eflow through Foundation Care Pharmacy since I get my formulated tobramycin through them. They also send me free my monthly supply of 7% hypertonic saline and ABDEK sourceCF Vitamins.
I don't have any advice to give you since my doctor did not have any objections with prescribing it for me. He said let's try it for 6 months and see how things go. Three months have passed and on my last check up I did very well. My PFT numbers have all gone up and my lung sounds clear. I do my meds, inCourage vest 2X a day and daily 45- 60 minute treadmill workout.
From my own personal experience...I love the eflow and would not want to give it back. I believe it does deliver the meds deeper into my lung.
I do hope that you can find a solution so that you can acquire one and try it yourself.
