eFlow

If any of you use your eFlow for more than one medication, do you have different neb cups for each one?

I ask because I know some of you use the eFlow for albuterol, Tobi, Colistin, maybe even Pulmozyme - and the Pulmozyme i know for sure is supposed to have it's own separate neb cup. Yet it sounds like you only really get one neb cup with the eFlow. What's the dealie-O?

I myself currently have two (about two months after I got the eFlow, I told them the aerosol head had clogged -- it was still working, technically, but it is working slowly). I use one for Pulmo and then the other for HTS and Colistin (alternating months).

I use the eflow with albuteral, HS, Pulmozyme & Tobi. Like you said it only comes with one neb cup unless you fork over some major bucks to purchase additional ones. I believe a neb cup with a head is somewhere around $400. Pretty steep!

Every three months I receive a new medal head but unless you have a problem with the neb cup they do not send a new one. When I get the new head I use the old one for my HS alone. This way the new head stays unblocked and treatment time does not slow down. The salt crystals in the HS lenghtens neb time over time.

I did melt a neb set and head once while boiling and they, Foundation Care Pharmacy, who supplies me with my eflow send me a new set for free.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

If you are concerned about using one med after the other in the eflow you could run a little sterile water in between meds to clean it out. I don't. I just make sure the chamber that holds the med is completely empty...I shake out the chamber good between med treatments.

Treatment time is so quick with the eflow that the meds are in the chamber for such a short period of time and they are completely used up leaving really no medicine left in it.
