embarrassing question

I hope you dont mind me posting as anon but this is a little embarrassing.

Do any of you have hemmorhoids? Im sure if you do youll be anon too!
They only act up once in a blue moon but I can still see them all the time. I have stuff to relieve symptoms but not make them go away. Is there anything that can make them go away? More for cosmetic reasons. Oh my god I am so embarrassed!

Ooh oohh!! *jumps up and down* Look at me, you can see me! lol

Not making fun of you. More making fun of myself for not caring if people read about my @ss. Hah!

Anyways. I don't have hemmorhoids, I have had something called a tag. It's very similar to a hemmorhoid, except that it's just flesh that's been pushed out of the butt (by CF bathroom problems + pushing extra hard), and kind of hangs there. I had one surgically removed so far (4 years ago). I have another growing now, but it hasn't gotten big enough yet to cut out. The other one was the size of a quarter before I asked to have it chopped off.

My best bet for you, honestly (and please don't die on the spot), is to see a proctologist. In case you're not sure, that's a butt doctor. Heh. I have one nearby, she's the one that removed my tag. Very lovely woman. No, having your @ss looked at isn't fun. But it fixed my problem, so I was happy to see her. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

If that's too positively horrifying for you... I suggest one of the over-the-counter hemmorhoid products. Preparation H or one of those. I imagine they help. I don't know firsthand, but I know that's what they're for.

I have a hemorroid. I've been to the doc about it, and was told that at this point its not really a concern. I just have to be super careful when I have BM's that are harder then usual, because then they tend to hurt a bit.

Yep been there done that, your not alone! I had a flare up about 6 months ago. So bad that it actually is about the size of a pencil eraser and its and outside one so it just is there all the time. It started inside and I would see blood everyonce in awhile and feel pain when it would flare up, then it moved outside. I went to the doc about it and they said that the only thing he could do is cut it off but that it was small and it didnt have to be done. But I have learned that there is a laser procedure to cut them off if they are on the outside and its alot less pain. But I just used the preperation H, the cream that goes on the inside. And that was about all you can do untill the flare up goes down. *Laughing* b/c i just shared my butt story * hahaha *

hehe...that statement made me laugh.

Sounds like you've gotten some good advice.

as for actually removing them, my dad almost had the operation to cut them off. he was talked out of it by the surgeon because its apparently VERY painful and messy. instead, they put a rubber band around them to make them die and fall off. havent heard him complain since so it must have worked.

Ahhh- the advanced technology of a rubber band. That seems like it could be pretty messy as well, I don't know though. Geeze...
