Hi all:
After 2 weeks on Naficillin IV (thru a PICC), started coughing tons again (lovely shades too I might add)...latest thing besides Staph A growing that they are concerned about is Enterobacter. The docs said its a normal GI bug, but in CF, if you have bad reflux (which I do when on antibiotics), you can cough this into your lungs, and get infected that way.
From what I've been reading, this doesn't sound like a good thing to culture (not that any of them are really)...and that it's hard(er) to get rid of. I also read that this is responsible for a lot empyemas (fluid in the pleural space), which I get.
Anyone else culture this or have additional info on it?
