I'm going to be the odd one here and say keep up what you're doing! I couldn't give my DS applesauce at that age because the thought of feeding solids to an infant wigged me out - he didn't get any solids until he was 6.5 months old - just breastmilk, and he gained great - until I introduced solids, go figure!
