Hey Erin - That's outstanding - congrats on your championship! I also ran for my collegiate cross country and track teams (although was no state champion!!) My best mile was 4:34, best 15K was 55:26. Exercise is a huge part of my daily routine. I still run, although my mileage is no where close to what I was doing in college. I've also picked up cycling, and am doing a half ironman triathlon on July 1st.

Congrats again on your title!

I do hydro aerobics, swimming, yoga and pilates. The swimming and hydro aerobics have really kept me incredibly healthy. And best of all, it's so much fun.

Hi all,

Wow, that's really impressive that there are so many CF runners.

I'm very proud to say that I'm one of those CF runners now I started about 6 months ago. I could barely run 2 minutes when I started and thought that I would never be able to run. I started HS about 6 months ago also and I think that that really helped.

I now run around 5 km at least 4 days a week. I'm not particularly fast but, I still keep up with those that don't even have CF. Also, from a physical point of view, I've never felt better. Funnily enough, my FEV1 hasn't changed but that doesn't matter, I'm going to keep on running for as long as I can...

Not bad for a CF "oldie"

I'd love to be among the CF runners, but my knees have been giving me trouble for the past 12 years. Besides, since it's each to its own, I personally never really found much enthusiasm for running, myself. I had other methods of excercise, mainly in the Martial Arts area, but also liked a little basketball, volleyball, ice hockey in my earlier days, and even played "walley-ball" or something like that in an indoor "wall-ball" gym during my college years--it was great!
However, I'm still trying to keep up with excercising the lungs!
