Take it slow and don't get discouraged! I started three years ago walking a block then running a block. Each week I added a little more and these days I'm running 6, 8, 10 and 12 miles at a time. Also I ride a ton in the summer; sometimes 30-65 miles a day. In the winter and because my knee is injured I ride my bike in the basement on a trainer for 45-60 min, 5 to 6 days a week. I recently added pilates into the mix 3 or so times a week. I've been doing weights and core training 3-4 days a week too. This really help with my posture and most imprtantly my breathing.

Again start slow, set some goals, maybe to be able to jog 1 mile straight in a month or so. When I train I don't run fast, I do it so my body gets used to the distance and to build endurance.

If you have any questions please email me emily@letsrockcf.org
