Exercising with a respiratory infection

i had always been told that if you are sick from the neck up exercise is fine. But with neck down/respiratory infection type illnesses you should hold off or pare down exercise sessions. Does this apply to a CFer? I mean I know that exercise is essential for good CF health, but is there a point when you shouldn't exercise? Mostly just curious here -- I couldn't hold back my dd's exercise right now if I tried.

My doctors & therapists pushed me to exercise unless I was running fevers. If I had to crank up the 02 during it that was fine, but they wanted me to move.

I didnt do it tho <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">.....at least until they came & took me by the hand!

My son got out of the hospital with pnuemonia a week ago. His dr said for him to exercise (run around basically) as much as possible. It helps clear the lungs. Hope Alyssa feels better soon.
