sorry for the offensive title to the thread, but i am SO FRUSTRATED with my nebulizer cups!!! several months ago i threw away all of my old ratty cups and bought 5 new Pari nebs. i wash them in the dishwasher and so of course the parts have gotten interchanged. what kills me is that i have problems getting them to work when i put them back together! it doesn't make sense to me why they wouldn't all be interchangable? this is just crazy... what am i supposed to do??

My daughter uses the Pari nebs. We have two that she uses each day and we have never had that problem. We clean them after each use and throw them out after 6 months.

We've noticed that the cups have slight differences (enough to be a pain in the tail). I assume it's a plastic molding issue.

Solution - The Sharpie. Mark each set with a different colored sharpie (blue, black and red seem to work the best).

I have like 8 different Pari cups and I boil them and never have a problem- all the parts are interchangeable....

maybe it is the way you are cleaning them?

i am not sure!

We have a water softener and I notice that when DH needs to fill it up again with salt that sometimes the neb cups are harder to put together -- they've got a bit of a build up on them, so the tops don't fit on as well. So I dip them in vinegar for awhile, refill the softner, wash and boil the neb cups and they're as good as new. I have noticed a difference in a couple of the pari ones -- I got a couple pari disposable neb cups and they have a different inside -- don't have a ring on the top. Liza

Hi Laura,

I run into the same problem and it's a real pain. I don't have an answer, I just practically force the things back together or pick up another piece and use whatever fits. It's annoying for me too. I don't know why they're not interchangeable either!

well, i feel a little better knowing that i am not suffering alone. i will probably try the sharpie thing, although i was hoping to avoid it. i've done this in the past and i get tired of remarking over time...

thanks guys,

I do the sharpier marker thing on mine. I leave the albuterol/oregano oil blank, put a P on the pulmozyme one, and a C on the one for collistin.

I have one pari lc which is "spitting".

It seems to be workign right on the inhale, but when I exhale it makes spitting sounds and huge quantities of vapor come out the center hole. If I breathe out without letting the exhale through the mouthpiece it does better...

My thought is just to retire this cup. A little annoying since it's under a month old, but everything works fine with a different cup.

do you mean the center hold on the mouth piece or on the main neb? i have that spitting happen often, but sporadically from the whole on the mouth piece.

if it is under a month old, call the people you got it from and ask them to send you another one (for free.) i'm sure they will. pari stands behind their stuff, it seems. you shouldn't have to foot the cost for a defective neb cup.
