so i've been on iv's for a week now. i was just wondering if anyone had gotten their period a day or two into their iv's. did yours last longer? i normally have a 3-4 day period. i'm going on a week now. would maybe the heprin flush being making my body go a little crazy? i'm just trying to figure out if i should mention it to my doctor or not. feedback is appreciated!

Hey Candice,

I would mention it to the dr. (i mention EVERYTHING to the dr. lol)

I wouldn't be surprised if the heparin is playing some sort of role in it though..

I would deff mention it to your doc. They may see it all the time or they may think that it is the heprin and put you on a lower dose to flush. I know I have some messed up blood problems so Im deff used to different problems with blood issues and ivs. Yes the heprin will thin out your blod so it is possible that when your on your period that you will bleed more. It doesnt sound like anything serious as long as your not bleeding a ton each day and its still at a normal rate each day. I would just tell your doc so that they can note it in your charts.
