Fevers at night

Just wondering... I feel great, besides for the normal tiredness of an insane schedule. But for the past two or three nights, at this time of night I am spiking a temp. I am not coughing at all, feel good otherwise, other then the sunburned feeling of a fever. It goes away when I take tylenol.

Any ideas????

Watch that. I had the same thing going on about a week ago. The fever got worse, other symptoms started, and I eneded up with a bad staph infection and a minor case of pnumonia (sp?) Monitor it, and if it gets worse, call the doc ASAP. Not to worry you, it could be nothing, but you never know.

Keep an eye on it. Lilith is smart. Hehe. But at the same time, I often sweat balls at night for no apparent reason. So it could be either, just monitor it.

Hey-
I'm not sure where you live, but I've had a night fever for 2 days now. Muscle aches, and chills. I called my doc and they said that almost every patient with CF has called in this week with similar stuff. I guess it's like a flu lasting a few days. Whether you have it or not, something is definately going around.

Maybe you should call your doctor-just to let them know. Maybe they'll have some tips for you.

I hope you feel better!

I forgot to mention-
It started as just a fever, but progressed to a very bad cough. I now have a deep, rapsy cough.
Not trying to worry you...just keep an eye on it. Maybe you can nip it in the bud if it's anything!

My brother has the same thig. He is fine all day and then he spikes a temp at the same time everyday and is fine when he takes tylenol until the next day at the same time. The docs said they really don't know why that's happeing.

I've always had what I like to call 'phantom fevers'. They come around at a certain time, like clockwork every day for a series of days. Sometimes they're nothing and it just goes away, sometimes they develop into a full-blown infection. When I just recently went into the ER for mine, my doc said that another CF patient (who'd had a tx) had come in the same day and was having the same symptoms as I was. He couldn't understand what was going on until he'd done all of my labs. As for the fevers that never get worse and don't mean anything, I have no clue what causes them. Its a mystery...

Oh, and Emily, I'm not all that smart, really. I barely passed Algebra with a C *lol*

Well algebra is a terrible subject to go by. I hate math! <img src="i/expressions/devil.gif" border="0">

My doctor says that typically the body naturally starts fevers to fight a virus or infection. So if I get one, there's probably infection somewhere, and I jump start my therapies and supplements.

Thanks, I will for sure keep an eye on it. In pediatric patients, we always tell the parent that if the fever is worse at night it is indicative of a virus. I don't know about adults though. Fever went back down with tylenol was 101.1 but now 99. 5 go figure.

I can't get sick now I am almost done with school.... so I am being really careful. I take naps as much as I can, and try to get a good nights sleep every night.

I need about 10 -12 hours a sleep every day to feel good... which is a pain in the neck.. I met someone the other day that swears she only sleeps 4-5 hours a night tops.. I would be a doctor by now if I could get by with that little sleep.

Thanks for all your input,

Jennifer
