thanks for the replies. i went ahead and called my doctor monday. i went yesterday and had a picc inserted. i'm on cefepime and tobramycin. they also tried to desentize me to vancomycin, but with 50 mg of benedryl and infusing it slowly i still had red man's syndrome pretty bad, so they decided not to do it. i still ran a fever last night. it was 100.4 when i last checked it, but i took ibuprofen. i think i sweated the fever out last night because my sheets were soaked and i have salt beads all over my face this morning.
