A couple easy to hide and good for CF snacks: those pre-wrapped peanut butter crackers, a container of snack nuts, granola bars, and trail mix. They don't need to be kept cold and they are easy/fast to eat with lots of protein and calories. I normally bring some Boost or Ensure (yuck) as well because sometimes I hate the hospital food and I want to make sure I have extra calories.

I agree with everything other people said, especially the pillow and a small blanket. Also, comfy slippers/flip flops to wear when you have to leave your room for xrays or whatever but don't want to put on full out shoes. I normally bring flip flops for the shower as well if my stay is going to be over a couple of days.

Not yet mentioned -- ipod and cell phone

I also take my own access needles, kinda like the meds, i know what i like and they couldn't figure it out last time. This time, I brought my own vest, the actual vest not the machine, it saved time and hassles. I even used it, go figure...

Good luck and feel better
