It's me again...I am going (without kids) on Tues to meet the CF team. I will be meeting a handful of people from what I understand. They told me I would be there for a while. Any advice on what to expect or questions I should ask?

Try searching through the old posts here... this is something that people have addressed already several times before.

My short version is:
1)Plan on several hours -- usually with the patient it is 4-5 hours, yours might be less because if you are not to bring your kid(s) than that will cut down on things they will do.
2)I always recommend taking a voice recorder or a note pad to take notes.
3)You will usually meet with the nurse, doctor, dietician, respiratory therapist, social worker and at some clinics the pharmacist.
4)Take a support person -- more sets of ears :) again, if you had small children it's better to have some help too.
5)If you were to have the kids with you, they would have several things done: exam by doctor, height and weight, PFT's (pulmonary function tests), labs (blood draw), chest x-ray and throat culture. At some point I'm sure they will want to schedule CT scans of lungs and sinus.

Best wishes !

I was there for four hrs. and came home with a trunk full of stuff. WOW. I met everyone who will be involved in our care and they were all wonderful. I am so happy I have a group of people who will be helping my family. I was also happy to find out there is another CF patient in our clinic with the same genetics as my kids.

My oldest is going in for a sweat test tomorrow morning. I am praying he will be under 10!!
