Floods in Texas

Even though I am in CA with our oldest daughter, waiting for transplant, we live in Argyle. Spoke with my husband this AM and he said my weather radio kept going off waking him up last night. He was getting tired of shutting it off when the last alert went off announcing a tornado moving from Trophy Club towards Argyle. He grabbed the dogs and spent the next hour or so in the closet. Thank goodness Rachel is here in CA with my parents. My husband said he finally went back to bed a little bit after the warning expired. And he hates my weather radio. It does get annoying when there's severe weather but how else are you going to know in the middle of the night when there's a tornado warning? He said everything looked pretty good in Argyle this morning. Seems our neighbors didn't have the threat of rising waters this time around, they have a creek next to their property. As many have mentioned already, they were not so lucky in Haltom City or Gainsville. The rain is good, the rivers are up, the stock ponds are full, the drought is supposedly officially over, it can slow down now.

yeah, the drought is over but the government in it's infinite wisdom still says you can't water the lawn whenever you want. pluhhhh. there are a lot of people that live around here, i didn't know that, i thought i was all alone around here. i guess i'll start posting when there are cf functions around here. Death count i think is up to like 5 or 6 and the flooded areas are just now starting to clean up as the water goes down, its a mess in some places. Glad all of us got out ok

I haven't really seen any housing damage like the stuff on the news. Mostly it has just been lots of puddles in places where there shouldn't be puddles. I know that part of Whitley Rd was closed down yesterday down by 377, and I'm sure that Bear Creek ran over the street in the usual spot though I didn't check it out. Saw on the news something about us getting 4.25 inches from the storm but things seem to be drying out reasonably well.

Hi, I'm hearing that the people that build that huge house right off Bear Creek Rd. had some horrendous damage. You must know the house I'm talking about. They built right past where the creek passes Bear Creek rd. on the north side of the rd. Right where it was crazy to build a house. My husband says it just keeps raining. He said it dried out long enough for him to mow the lawn and he did my parents's yesterday. Family down in San Antonio say it keeps raining there too. On the brigth side we should have a beautiful display of bluebonnets next spring. I hope I'm there to see them.

They built right past where the creek passes Bear Creek rd. on the north side of the rd. Right where it was crazy to build a house. My husband says it just keeps raining. He said it dried out long enough for him to mow the lawn and he did my parents's yesterday. Family down in San Antonio say it keeps raining there too. On the brigth side we should have a beautiful display of bluebonnets next spring. I hope I'm there to see them.
