Frustrated with my vest.

I know how you feel. I had a vest from Hill Rom when I had the old version and it would CUT into my armpits. I askd for a larger version, and it still cut my armpits, but it didn't do very good because it was too big! I felt like whatever I did, I was still getting cuts on my armpits but not getting the therapy that I needed... Very frustrating. I agree with NoExcuses.. You should tell them what's up and see if they can do a custom vest or something. That is ridiculous and frustrating. Now with my new vest, it's custom and I even gave them my bra size.. It fits perfectly.. I can weear tank tops again because no more cuts!

Please call them ASAP and let them know that this is not acceptable. Your health and comfort come first. Good luck!!!!!

I'm doing my vest right now and it's cutting into one armpit.
I have the Hill-Rom 105. I have just tried to adjust it as needed, it's not the most comfortable thing in the world.

What if you take washcloth or something to buffer the vibration in your pits. Or what about wearing a sweatshirt or something. I would follow up w/your hospital or vest company. There is no reason to be in that much discomfort in order to make yourself feel better!

Good luck!

I had problems with my vest after I had lost weight, it was too big. I called Hill Rom, explained my situation and provided them with my measurements. I went from a large adults to a small and find that it fits perfectly. IF it feels too tight then it probably is especially when it is inflated. I would call them to see what they can do for you...Hugs, Jenn

Okay, I'm still frustrated. HillRom sent me a new vest which is probably the right size (adults small, full vest). The body part fits fine and when it's inflated it's fine too. I can handle the pressure up to 10 -- the only problem still are the arm pits. If I were to sit with my arms down straight at my sides, then I probably wouldn't be complaining, but I want to sit and type at my computer when I'm using the vest. The second I raise my arms up and forward in a typing position, the vest just about cuts off my blood circulation in my arms. When I lower the pressure to 8, then the blood circulation gets better, but it's better for my lungs if I can handle the higher pressure.

So I guess I still need to ask them for a custom made vest. With this new one, I gave the lady my measurements over the phone and she confirmed that the ones I had were definitely the wrong sizes and this new one should fit.

Do any of you with HillRom vests have this problem with the vests that you think fits well? I realize the vests that cut into your armpits too much are not the right size (too small!), but do the right ones cut off your circluation in your arms when you're reaching forward? I wonder if the full size is just a bad match for me too. The half vest, eventhough it is too large, feels good and actually gets a lot of stuff up for me.

Thanks for any feedback.
