Fungus in my front yard

My landscaper friend told us today that we have fungus growing in our front yard. im flippin out. is this dangerous for Aidan? And for the past few weeks his fingers have been cracked and peeling in a way i have never seen them do before. first i thought it was from all the salt coming out cause its been in the 90's here. but now im thinking its because of this.
