g-tube issue

Cariann,
I have had two Gtubes and a button in the past year.... so with my experience all I can tell you is I had much better luck with my Gtubes that actually hang like a cord from the stomach as opposed to my button (that was flat against the skin) when it came to leakage. I had my first Gtube placed and had it for about a month and asked for a button that goes against the stomach. Once I had that placed I had your same probelms: constant leakage, pain and irritation at the sight, even some inside stomach lining came out and all in all it was trouble. I always got my shirts gross. Anyhow, that button lasted about 2 mths and accidentally came out of my stomach, which was good for me in the end. I now have the original Gtube that hangs from the stomach and have had NO leakage problems at all! Thank Goodness, so apparently the surgeon did a good job. Even when I am super full it doesn't leak, no soreness at the sight or any other problems. I think some surgeons are better then others when it comes to placing them, and if they are a bit out of wack, can give you major issues like my previous one did. Hope you can get the problem fixed!
