so lately i've been thinking about the water that i drink. right now i just use a britta filter, which i know doens't remove much. i have been drinking more bottled water lately; i am especially addicted to sparkling water since my trip to europe last year. one day i would like to shell out the money for a nice filtration system where i can have the mini spiggot thing at the kitchen sink. i was wondering if any of you use these or what kinds you really like?

I don't use anything at all. I guess I trust our city to make sure our water is safe to drink.
Filtered water may be OK, I just have never tried it.
As far as bottled water......do we really know where the water comes from & how clean the facilities are where it is bottled? Kind of off topic, but I've wondered if the bottled water industry is regulated at all?

For twenty three dollars a month I have a filtration system under my sink and it is all from crystal springs. I know there are affiliates out there with different names. Any big bottle water company probably has RO filtration. I love the water and I just gobble it down. Gobble gobble

I drink Deer Park bottled water. It doesnt have those extra minerals added in like other bottled water...they tasted funny to me. Plus they come in really cute half pint sizes, which is great to take around everywhere....like a quick trip to walmart!

I LOVE Nestle flavored water. I like the lemon flavor.

We also have bottled water in our house. I will cook with tap water, but our water is SOOOO nasty tasting!

Edited to add: Did ya'll know that most bottled water does not have floride (sp) in it. They say children that drink bottled water have more of a change of their teeth going bad.

I drink a Propel during the day, but other than that my water comes from the tap. It's safe (well I've been drinking it for 30 years now so i assume it is safe ), and it tastes good.

I believe (please correct me if I am wrong) that many people do NOT want their kids to drink flordified water because if they are already getting floride from another source that it can be harmful getting too much. I, personally, look for the water marked that it HAS floride for Jazmine during the summer months. During the school year she gets floride treatments in school tho. I also know that some (not sure how many) municipal water sources either do or did floridify their water.

I like the Nestle flavoured water also, but after trying Propel I'm converted. Propel has so many vitamins that if you drink 2 bottles a day, it's becomes a vitamin supplement. Also Propel doesn't contain aspirtame, which Nestle water does. The jury is still out on how safe aspirtame really is.

I don't like the sweetened flavored waters. I LOVE carbonated/sparkling water such as perrier, club soda... For the most part we drink tap water, though I do by generic bottled water at the store -- usually target reverse osmosis water to encourage Max to drink more during the summer. He thinks bottled water is cool, especially if it comes in a propel bottle (I just put tap water in it cuz I don't like him having aspartame).

I was on a smartwater kick for awhile -- flavored stuff. Not sweetened. It's distilled water with minerals and flavor added. Have a tough time finding it lately. I actually like the taste of chilled distilled water. Weird, but when we were growing up in NW Iowa, the water would come from the local lake and during the summer there was a horrible algae problem, so it would come out of the tap green and heavily chlorinated. Bleah! So my folks bought a water distiller.

I am not fussy. As long as I dont taste chlorine or anything really strong in it I dont mind. In our town we had a scare a few years back with gasoline additives leaking into the water supply so everybody panicked. Since then the smell of chlorine from the tap water has gotten gross. We go to a local spring that is great tasting & COLD.....my cousin had a fit that we are drinking from it because of the scare with the water source. It is actually from another source then this spring, but his point is that once one source is posioned all are.....maybe he is right, but right/wrong I still drink it along with TONS of other people!

I only allow my boys to drink bottled water, normally regular Nestle, or Aquafina Flavour Splash.

Melissa,

I didn't know you can get bottled water with floride. This is good to know. What are the different brand that add floride?

I am a seltzer-holic. I LOVE wild cherry or Raspberry lime seltzer. I dont drink much water but when i do it is right from the tap. I also love "Wendy's" Iced tea ( regular un-sweetened).

I have what some people may consider an obsesive compulsive thing with my water..I think it's completely normal.
So I will normally only drink bottled water that has clear labels. My favorite water of all time is Aquafina..it has a very crisp taste and it totally quenches the thirst..Next up is SmartWater (clear label and very refreshing).

Somebody give me your opinion here..some of my friends agree, some think I'm crazy..here goes: Bottled water with paper labels i.e. Dannon, Absopure, Nestle, Ice mountain etc taste very thick..(Deer Park does have a paper label but it is good, they pass the test). And mostly those with clear lables (with the exception of Dasani) have a thinner and crsiper taste. Kroger used to be good but they changed something.

I love a good tap water when I am around it. It's better for your teeth too! I prefer a Britta at home too.

I consider myself a bottled water conasuer.

For the life of me I cant think who makes it....I want to say Dannon or something to that affect. The ones that we were able to get were good size for kids & each bottle had those tops that you pull open/push closed. It was great for Jazmine for school. I would have to double check in the store to make sure of the name. I just look for the label!
