We'll I haven't had a major lung infection in a few years. This one hit me like a ton of bricks. Almost went to pneumonia but I won!
Started Saturday evening with a 'feeling' in my throat - continued on Sunday and by Sunday night I had a sore throat with a light runny nose. Didn't seem that bad until Monday morning I woke up and it was in my lungs - what a mess. Stayed home and coughed up white foamy mucus all day. I think it's interesting how when my lungs get infected at first it's white when on a daily basis it's never white but rather yellow. I finally got a call back from my doctor at 5:15 on Monday when he proptly called in an order of Cipro. The way he wrote the script was for a 500MG pill to be taken every 8 hours. Have you ever taken Cipro like this? I'm used to every 12 hrs. Hey if it works I'm all for it. Jared went and picked it up for me. I'm being really good about following it's rules. Taking 2 hrs. after or 6 hrs. before calcium or vitamin (or acid reflux - but i don't use this) intake - takes some thinking considering I drink a gallon and half of milk a week. Now would not be the time to start cutting calories by cutting back on the milk. Anyway this evening will be 3 days I've been on it. I also stayed home Tues. People at work were really curious what was up. No one ever misses two days in a row here. I'm trying to get over feeling guilty. I mean really two days ain't a thing if it keeps me out of the hospital which surely would have a larger impact on my productivity.
All this just after being told I have Aspergillus - I'll try to find that post and update you on my doc's thoughts on that.
Interesting that I caught the cold 24 hrs. after stopping my 'umbrella' drug Bactrim that my doc. wants me on from Dec. - May.
