GI question

I haven't had a good bowel movement in 3 or more days. Yesterday I couldn't eat much because I was full. I have eaten small amounts today and been hungry, but still no good bowel movements, just small amounts. I have reduced my ultrase as well but it hasn't made any differnce yet. I've also tried a little milk of magnesia. Any suggestions?

Increase your fiber intake. Eat fruits whole grains, brown rice, oatmeal, hummus granola bars, salads and perhaps go on a calcium and magnesium supplement. Eat good proteins too but I am just stating the above because you are probably lacking the fiber.

Of course you are probably lacking some healthy oils too. Try some olive oil but do not overdo because you might end up with running to the bathroom all day.

Massaging your entire stomach starting from your right to the left. Always work toward your colon which is on the left side.

If this does not work call your doctor but perhaps call your doctor anyway. If this happens all the time then definitely see a doctor.

Going two to three times per day is a great goal.

How much is a "little" milk of mag? Just a dose of it, might not help. When we've used it on DS, we've ended up giving him 1 tsp (he's a toddler), twice a day until things start moving again. We've been doing this off and on since he was 5 months old. Milk of Mag is one of those things where you may not get immediate results or you may need to continue taking it for a few days to get things cleaned out.. And sometimes one needs something stronger -- miralax, enemas...
