Going further on Mandy's nano silver treatment

As she said earlier, they are creating treatments for mycobacteria and other aggressive bugs using nano silver, that is, super small particles of silver, which are able to penetrate the membranes of the bacteria and kill them.

Here is an article i came across.

I was looking it up, and came across a site that sells nano silver....and was wondering if you guys think it's safe to take this stuff orally. I wouldn't take too much, but it does seem very promising, and i usually like trying stuff on my own hehe

here is the site that sells nano silver. Not sure if it's legit. I anyone else comes across any other products that seem for real, let me know

hey Ender-
Taking silver orally can be a little risky...don't want to get argyria (turn blue never to return to a natural color......black, white...whatever). The reason I posted about the inhaled is because the company is having amazing results treating mycobacterial lung infections....and while the scientist I spoke to believes that it could be helpful in treating pseudo, they are mainly interested in the hard to treat pan-restistant mycobacteriums at this point. There is a company in Great Britian that is focused soley on treating pseudo.....that is a very intriguing read if you are up for it.

Anyway, not to discourage you, but silver is not perfect....I woud look into companies doing research....

Ender,

About 3-4 years ago my hubby heard how good silver was for you. He started making his own. (I am not sure how, I will ask him if you would like more details, all I remember was he used water, a bar of silver, and little things that looked like roach clips).

I tried it a couple of times, but stopped immediately when I read an article about a man that did the same thing and TURNED PURPLE!

All this was before Courtney was diagnosed with CF. I would be quite interested to hear what the affects of silver is on CF patients.

Argyria. Result of using colloidal silver.

''The condition is believed to be permanent. Most recent cases are due to the over consumption of home made colloidal silver as an alternative medicine. [...] Reports of cases of argyria suggest that gram amounts (from 2 to 4 grams) of silver or a silver compound taken in medication in small doses over several months may cause argyria in some humans. People who work in factories that manufacture silver can also breathe in silver or its compounds. In the past, some of these workers have become argyric. However, the level of silver in the air and the length of exposure that caused argyria in these workers is not known. It is also not known what level of silver causes breathing problems, lung and throat irritation, or stomach pain in people. Studies in rats show that drinking water containing very large amounts of silver (9.8 grams of silver per U.S. gallon water or 2.6 grams per liter) is likely to be life-threatening.''

It was colloidal silver my hubby was making. I did read the research he did on it and it sounds WONDERFUL for the body, but I did not feel it was worth turning purple or blue......lol.

Does anyone know the difference between colloidal silver and nano silver??

Well colloidal silver is suspended particles of silver...i think quite large in size. Nano silver is silver at the atomic level, usually 2-20 nanometers in width.

Now I'm not sure about this, but I assume that if they are starting to use it as inhaled therapy, that it would exhibit the same antimicrobial properties as regular silver without those nasty side affects. Also, I think they can increase the dosage to make it more effective, cause at the atomic level we can handle more of a concentration.

Let's just say that working in the chemical industry... nano particles concern me. People taking silver also concerns me - just don't do it.
