Gorillas in Africa?

Just wondering if anyone has been to the Congo in Africa and hung out with the gorillas on a tour or something?

I recently saw Saguerney Weaver return to the Congo, for the first time since filming Gorillas in the Mist, on Animal Planet. I was super excited to learn the the gorilla popluation has improved quite a bit since the time of that movie. But I absolutely LOOOOVE gorillas, and would love to go there and hang out with them! Has anyone been? I'd love to hear.

A few months ago I went to the LA zoo for the first time in ages and saw this enormous-enormous Orangatang. I loved him and the little babies. The babies are so clumsy.

I like them much more than I like people. Too bad there aren't more simians around than humans.

You sound like Jane Goodall. I think that is her name. I tease my husband that he looks like a gorilla because his chest is massive.

We went to the Bronx Zoo for Jazmine's class trip & that was the first in person/gorilla experience we had. Closest to that was on tv. They are so much like humans that I was fasinated looking at their actions & features. That was until one of them stuck their finger up their nose, picked it & ate it. Like I said.......so much like humans LOL!

I so wanted to watch that show and forgot it was on--am so bummed out! Gorillas in the Mist was such a good movie--it's so incredible that Sigurney went back. It's good to hear that the gorilla population had improved--thanks for telling us!
