I'm graduating in two weeks as well. It's an AS degree, but it's something I've worked very hard for (like all of you have I'm sure). I'm transferring to a university in the fall and will keep going until I achieve my goals.-Sunnie

I graduated college a long time ago. I don't think it is such a big deal. Any one can do anything if they put their minds to it. Come on people.Angie 43 working, college grad, making $35,000 a year

Angie - Is it that hard to just be happy for someone who has accomplished this? I had a year of bleeding lungs, collapsed lung, hospitalizations and a fear of not living another year, this during my second year of college. We all have problems we deal with and CF varies on different levels. Maybe for you it was a breeze. You bet I had determination - I put my mind to it and I did it. I am not asking for people to worship me or anything, it is just nice to share with others, and at the same time give parents of young CFer's and also teen CFer's hope for the future. One has to be determined to make it work, but it isn't always easy. I am happy you have made good for yourself and make a great salary, but you know, that doesn't give you a whole lot if you can't empathize or be nice to people in this world.

I just want to say CONGRATS again to any of you who have graduated from college whether or not you are living with CF. In today's world, it is hard enough to get through college without having to deal with the added junk that CF can bring. I know when my daughter graduates in three years, I'll be here telling everyone and we'll be having a BIG PARTY! But also when her sister (16 without CF) graduates, we'll be doing the same for her!

Angie, I have read a few posts directed to your attention and I just want to say something. I see that you are an adult and maybe life has dealt you a bad deal but everyone on this site is in the same position, either as someone with CF or someone who loves someone with CF. You say anyone can do whatever they want but maybe you haven't come across the young kids that are facing a waiting list for a lung transplant. These kids cannot do anything they want. I think you need a reality check.Maybe you don't think it is a big deal for someone to graduate but if you are 43 then you have lived longer than many others and maybe you are doing better than others. I'm sure things have not been easy for you but there is always someone who has it worse. Keep in mind that there are also healthy people that think graduating is a big deal....because it is an accomlpishment to be proud of. I am sorry that you are so bitter and I agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I don't think you should take this bitterness onto this site. People are coming to this site to support each other not to criticize or judge other peoples experiences.I am the mother of a young child and I would hate for her to come to this site and see your attitude towards CF. If you let your guard down you may find that the people on this site can be very supportive when things are going bad, and you may actually come away with something.Mom to Ashley

I'm going to take two seconds to be rude. Disclaimer: I'm not this way unless you deserve it. Angie, you are a cranky *****. You're also most likely lying, because it's hard to believe any CFer would be such an obnoxious twit about what we all deal with. Go enjoy your perfect carefree life, and leave us be.
