Grateful for this website

I know I have really good friends and all but they sometimes just don't understand my CF like the people in here do.
I was explaining to a friend that I have a future date but need to cancel due to a hospital stay. I meet this guy online and we have been emailing back and forth the past few weeks. I just now explained my CF and asked him about pushing back the date. I haven't meet him yet.
My friend was trying to be helpful and suggused that he come to the house for the date. I am thinking, " Yeah right. The very first impresssion i want to make is of me on ivs doing medication."
Port lines are hard to hide and i hate going out with it because i don't want anyone to hit it. i had to explain things about CF and why i didn't want to go out. She eventually got some things about CF.
I am just thinking that if i told someone about cancelling my first date to another CF person that person will get it without asking questions. it is just sooooo nice to have people know what you are going through and feel without explanation. That's why I am grateful for you!

I don't know how old you are , but I know how frustrating it is trying to tell people about CF. Shoot I get tired of explaining things to the million doctors.......I actually get really upset that more people and the medical field are not as knowledgeable that I would like them to be. How long will it take for everyone to know what CF is when you say it?????

That's why I love coming here! Someone always has been in your shoes and can relate. So what did he say about your CF and pushing back the date?
