GREAT STRIDES questions

1) How do the on-line donations figure into our team/walker totals? I didn't know if I should include them on my sheet or they get figured in later.

2) Do you guys get the prize or donate it back? We have always thought that the prizes are probably donated so there is no loss to the CFF if we accept a prize. We give them to the boys. (Over the years they've gotten several boom boxes, cameras, binoculars, a TV).

3) I was told if you send in money after the walk with your team name on it (and we always do), it gets added to your team total, but when I just looked up the totals from last year, they looked low. Any ideas on that?

Disclaimer: this was our first walk and I'm still learning!

Maybe every local chapter does it differently but I did not include the on-line donations on the totals on the big envelope that I turned in at the walk.

Money has continued to come in and I take it to our local office and they definitely update our walker totals on-line.

We did get our prize (going to donate it to Katy's school since they raised so much money) and the school is going to take their prize. I could see it go either way. Since the individual walker envelopes is where you designate your prize code, and I didn't turn those in, I just sent our office an e-mail with which walker names wanted which prizes.

I hope your walk is fun and successful! Ours was last week and the weather was beautiful! Sorry your weather is on the verge of being yucky....

jane, the best way to have these questions answered is to call your local CF chapter. i had to the other day, and i will share with you some of what i learned.

you can include the online donations on your sheet or not. you might want to keep track of which are which, though. when you hand in your stuff, they will be able to tell which ones came in online (assuming they match up the names). if you want to write it on your sheet as well for your own information, that is fine, but not necessary.

all the money that you send in is supposed to eventually show up on your online account, although it may take a while from what i've heard.

I just got back from my walk and it was a very nice experience since this was my first time to walk and I think Ill be walking again next year. Sorry I didnt answer your question but wanted to add that in.

I did notice on the sponsor form there is a place to fill in online donations to date, so you can include it in your walk day totals!

Here in St Louis, MO at the Fenton Park location today we raised over $164,000!!!!
WOOHOO!!! I am tired, i was up early for the walk then had my nephew (6yrs old)for the afternoon early evening!!
