Do you all take this on ocassion if you get a cold and it lands in your chest? I remember years ago taking this and it helped me. There is a mixed controversy on this OTC cough medications.

As long as there are no cough supressants than I was wondering what your doctors take on this would be?

depending on how my cough is when i catch a cold, yes I will take gauneffessin-(SP?). If I get that thick, raspy, green mucus cough I take it. BUt only gauneff.-no added stuff to it like suppressant or nightime formula. they just make it harder to get the spit up, and we're not supposed to really take "cough" syrup. gaun. itself i just an expectorant and good i think.

I take that almost every time I am in the hospital, I even take it with codiene in it at night time every once in a while so I can sleep. ( while in the hospital) It works well for me and helps me to clear my lungs.

I got it yesterday because I caught a cold and I do have some congestion. It worked great. I coughed some up last night and I took some more today. I am taking the stuff twice a day. My doctor told me I could take it so why not?

I take Muco-Fen which is a form of guaifenesin, but is cheaper. I am suppose to take it every 12hrs, but since I dont drink as much as I should it dried me out. So I take it once a day instead. The only thing I've been told about cough medicine is take stuff like ATuss-DM (by Rx), Robitussin DM or something very simular. None of the other Robintussin.

Thank you. I am getting over my cold and I am only taking this twice daily. Clear lungs but there can be still mucus. I think I might have some more so I am doing my vest and taking albuterol. It helps.
