I actually had strep as a little kid and gave it to a teacup chihuahua puppy (my mon and gramma were breeders/handlers) He was teeny-tiny and died from it<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

I was thinking more about this, and if you can catch ringworm from a dog, why wouldn't you be able to catch something else? I know its entirely different, but just a thought.

When I was first transplanted I started dating several months later and one man that I was suppose to meet (said the day I was going to meet him) his dog got his vacines. It occured to me that a transplant patient cannot be around babies when they get their live vacinations so I thought it might be possibly the same thing for humans being around a baby dog. I called my nurse and I was right and never met this man. Thankfully I met my husband instead.

Yes, Ethan seems to be fine now and neither of us have had symptoms in about a month...but when I had it (and I'm very sure I did) it was the oddest illness. First I felt it in my lungs...it was hard to breathe and then my esophagus (sp?) hurt (not my throat). Then the coughing came. Very strange.
