Hi Sonia,
My husband has Medicare as primary (parts A & B) and then we pay for BCBS through COBRA from his previous job. His medicare is primary for hospitalizations and BCBS is secondary. First of all, all of our research has shown us that Medicare will NOT pay for any home IV costs at all. We have tried to fight the battle to no avail, but perhaps some home health nursing things would be covered that are completely separate from home IVs. Chris used to like to do home IVs until the last few years when Medicare has had to be primary, and has forced him to do long inpatient stays. The other thing to realize about Medicare Part A is that there is always a $1024.00 deductible for each hospitalization. (unless you are readmitted within 60 days of the last hospitalization and then they consider it the same 'benefit period'). Perhaps with your 2 secondary coverages they would pick up the large deductible. But we still have problems even with our secondary BCBS picking up that deductible!
Best of luck to you - and I feel your pain with all the insurance headaches. I handle all the medical bills/insurance stuff for us!
