Thanks for understanding. Maybe I could get my hubby to join the army. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Probably no such luck.

Hopefully the health care reform that their working on will do a bit of good for all of us.

Some people have said good things about this site, which provides coupons, rebates, and info on patient assistance programs:

And here is an article on medical deductions:

Good luck with this.

I don't know if Connecticut (I think that's where Anthem is out of, right?) has a medicaid assistance program for CF, but it might be good to look into. I know that there are several states that do though. I do not live in one of them and do not qualify for their assistance program. But I did qualify for 3 other programs that assist with my copays, which is nice. Don't feel guilty about applying for the patient assistance program. If you qualify, then why not!?!?! You need the help, take it! That's why they're there. These programs are usually set up to help the low- to middle-class family. Do a search online to find different programs available to you and go from there.

CT does have several Medicaid programs for both children and adults (through their Husky A and B programs) that are largely income-based. The income limitations for adults are stricter than they are for insuring children. During times that my husband has been out of work &/or been employed by places that offer terrible insurance we've had to make use of varying programs offered by the state.

One of the Medicaid/Husky programs here in CT used to be an Anthem plan (called Blue Care Family Plan, which we have used) but they've since opted out &/or somehow this plan no longer exists as of earlier this year. There are a couple other plans (set up as HMO's) through other insurance companies available (Aetna, Community Health Net and another one.)

I don't know about plans offered specifically to help those with CF. There are various waivers adults can apply for based on medical necessity but I haven't heard of programs specific to CF. This doesn't mean they don't exist though. It'd be a good thing to ask the social worker at clinic about, though, if you live here in CT. They should know...
