hey. Zoey just starting throwing up alot and ended up yanking her ng tube out of her nose. On the end that goes in her stomach it is a dark brown. Is this normal? I never seen it looking like this before. We think its her formula that is making her throw up all the time,but her doctor wont change her formula. Any suggestions on what to ask it to be changed to? Shes on neocate jr right now 27kcal. I think it is too strong for her. any ideas? Thank you in advance. sarah

Hi, when my Zoe ripped her tube our in the middle of the night, it also was brown on the end that goes in the stomach. Perfectly normal.
Zoe used to throw up a lot also, with breast milk. When she was weaned, she quit, also she was a lot older.

Sarah, I hope Zoey is better now. The tube is normal to look like that, we have people pull NG tubes out on my floor all the time (when they are confused).

Danny was on Vivonex formula for awhile then Pregestimil. Both smelled nasty (and I'm sure tasted worse) but maybe worth a switch? He would vomit on the 27 cal every once in awhile. Maybe they will let you do 24 cal per ounce? Also they finally let him switch to regular enfamil at about 6 months which he loved and ate like a champ. Somethng to talk with the docs about.

Is she on zantac or anything for reflux? Is she still stooling? DS was on pregistimil for about a week and hated it, we convinced the doctors to let us switch to regular infamil. Think he was on 24 or 27k most of the time to regain the weight he lost in the NICU.

DS was on zantac for about a year. He'd still throw up once in awhile. Once in awhile he'd have constipation issues, too. Would still be stooling, but end up with some stool backed up in his colon. Would spit up more, bigger tummy. We'd end up giving him some milk of mag and he'd be fine after a few days.
