Help with Gene Testing

Hi I'm new to the site and wondered if someone could give me advice please.
My sister has CF and I was tested for the CF gene when i was a child (late 80's) me and my partner are looking to start a family and wondered if we would need to be re-tested due to the new types of CF found. does anyone know if i would need to be re-tested? also my partner has never been tested and is unsure if a carrier.

In the late 80's they were testing for only 250 mutations. Now they test for more than 1500 mutations. Testing can be expensive.
