I'm thinking spider bite too. It could have happened while you were asleep. A temp of 104 can be really dangerous...seizures, damaging brain cells, etc. Go to the ER and dont wait any longer! If it is a spider bite, they should be able to treat it and stop it from getting worse. I hope you get feeling better. Please keep us updated.

Yep, I'd guess cellulitis too--let us know what's going on!!! It's not anything to fool around with-- you could get seriously ill, or even worse....

i was always told that the red line is tell tale of blood poisoning. it sounds like you already made the choice to go. i hope you already have followed your own advice.

What's with the spider bites? They cause cellulitis?

I was there for 5 hours...did blood tests, xrays...it was def some sort of infection going up my arm. It has to be one of the most random things i have ever had. One minute it looks like a little blister on my finger, the next it is blackish, with red lines going up to my armpit! Scary as hell.

He put me on ABX 4 times daily for 10 days. I also gotta see my cf doctor this week to make sure the ABX doesn't mess with my lungs. Joy joy.
