Didn't you say that one of your docs mentioned that the hormones associated with peiods make our vessels weaker? Are there any docs who have really studied this correlation? I mean, that sounds like the perfect dissertation topic to me? </end quote>

Yes I've heard that from several docs, but most notably from a great Endo when I went all the way to Denver (National Jewish) for a consult.

No one's done a study - we are a small population, and a small amount of money for research. I don't like it either, but I agree it's a great topic.

I'll keep harassing my clinic to do a study

And I agree- I don't think stopping a period or messing with our cycles is the end all be all - I think hemoptysis is a combination of a number of things. But studies definitely show that it's harder for women to clear mucus around their period as well (latest CFRI conference). BUt I figured I'd give myself a little extra help

Hey! I just wanted to add that I struggled with the very same thing about a year ago, and doing a very similar thing (vitamins, omega 3s, running, trying to eat better) has yielded great results for me, too! Best wishes.

I wish that helped me.... it helps the bleeding stop sooner, but doesn't prevent the hemo itself
