hemoptysis

hi, just wondering if massive hemoptysis needs always to be treated with ivs or you can do without it and is it a sign of infection?

Massive hemoptysis may need more than just iv's. I had to have 2 pulmonary embolizations due to large amounts of bleeding. I guess the deciding factor would be how much blood you are coughing up and how often. If you need more info my email is.......... jinxnick@aol.com

oops i forgot to mention that it usually is a sign of infection , but not always.
