I dont have any advice on the bugs ( maybe they are some osrt of fruit fly) I've had both of my
male cats for 18+ years now and over the years i have changed things to make things easier ( for me)when it comes to
changing the litter. One of them being using liners. All you do is lift it out of the box and just simply put
another liner in, No need to clean, or soak, rinse, etc. i almost never have to even touch the litter box ( as
long as the liner hasnt sprung a leak). I also open the bag of litter turn it upside down and let it sit for a
minute or two till the dust settles and then slowly lift the bag and the litter falls out slowly so there is no
dust for me to inhale. If you use a big bag you can use a large cup or container and scoop it out and make sure
to allow the litter to flow out slowly to minimize dust.
