Maybe the cf center can at least give them the name of a pediatrician/family practioner who will refer them if they need a referal. The clinic's social worker may be able to help, too. I hope they get everything sorted out soon!

I agree, call the CF Center (I live 2 hrs away from my CF center as well). Don't ask the Ped doc for a referal, demand it! If he still refuses then find another ped, even if the closest is in the next town over. I also live in a small town. We have one ped doctor so I know how that is. I was my local ped doc first CF patient as well, it can be fustrating and quite a learning experience. He always stayed in touch with my ped CF dr when making decisions on my health. He was a great doc. I'm not sure if I had to be referred to my CF center or not, I would have to ask my parents. Also, I would print out some info on CF for this Dr...sounds like he needs to be enlightened.
