I am on a low dose pill. Ortho novum 777 and have been for about 12 yrs now. Have never had an issue with them. I was on higher doses of pills at first but they made my pancreatitus react severely. Becky in mich
I am not sure the dose of my pills but I believe that it is low. I take Apri oral and I love it. There aren't too many side effects and it really does work well. It took me 4 months to conceive after I stopped taking it. I was on it for 1 1/2 years before I got off to get pregnant.
I had a massive stroke from the birth control pill when I was in my early 20's. There was no warning. It actually does happen-I was pretty surprised waking up in ICU.
My daughter uses the Nuvaring also -- we felt it was better because she didn't have to remember to take the pill and she wasn't drugging the whole body (we already knew she didn't tolerate high doses) so since the ring is vaginal and only needs to "treat" that area to be effective, it is a lower dose of hormone. She has tolerated it well and it is very convenient -- like the other post says put it in for 3 weeks and forget about it... take it out for the 4th week
