Hilarious Leg Spasms When You Cough

Sometimes when I cough really hard, or am having a bit of a coughing fit, my leg starts spasming and shaking!

It's like either Thumper from "Bambi", or else a dog getting scratched where he likes it.

I think it's hilarious, and my physiotherapist said last time I was in the hospital that she sees that quite often with the CF patients she treats.

Anyone else get this?

If I am having like spastic coughing fits or I have to work really hard to get stuff up (like if i can feel it coming up, but it takes a while)....my legs get really tense and like firm up. But mine doesnt shake or anything like that

I wonder if its because we have to work so hard to get the mucus out that our whole body just feels the tension?

Yes I've had that-wouldn't describe it as hilarious though-it hurts! Sometimes when I have a coughing spasm I get shakes in all parts on my body. Its hurts and can be a little scary.
I guess if they were like yours-like 'thumper', maybe I would laugh.

I've totally had that happen! Sometimes I get embarrassed because I'll be lying in bed with my husband when it happens, and I know he has to feel the bed shaking because of it. Too funny that it happens to others!!
