I just don't see the need for medication if she is healthy, and isn't sick with an active chest infection. In my experience docs like to push meds quite frequently, and I would hate to see your daughter build up a resistance to Cipro, when she doesn't really need it. Like I've said - if its been 26 months, and she still shows Pseudo, that means its colonized, and she won't get rid of it. No matter how much Cipro she takes, the Pseudo will not go away. I'm only ever on Cipro when I've got an active chest infection. And when I've not got a chest infection, I'm not on anything even though my cultures show Pseudo, because the docs know that the PA is a bacteria that is present in my cultures majority of the time. Like I've said before - PA can go "dormate" - where it goes to sleep, and doesn't show itself sometimes. The same goes for tuneups. I don't understand why docs like to put kids in hospital on IVs when they are not sick. Would you send your car in for a tuneup if it ran perfectly fine?
