Holding your breath

I have been contemplating asking this for a long time now. When i do my albuterol inhaler i have to inhale and then hold my breath for as long as i can. Sometimes i can hold it longer than others and have been able to almost guage how well my lungs are doing by how long i can hold my breath. I think the most i can hold it for is a little bit over 20 seconds ( no more than 25 seconds ever). How long can everyone here hold their breath?

I just tried and held for 23 seconds. I tried a second time after waiting aprox 30 seconds and could only do 17 seconds.

Oopps, I misread the original question, I thought you were just timing your beath holding after doing your med. In any case I agree with Liz, 10 seconds when doing your inhaler is all you need.

Ok i just tried...50 seconds...but i was struggling. I can do 40 comfortably.

I'm gonna try later tonight when i do my ventolin, pulmicort...and stuff. I wanna try for a min <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

You're also 41 Diane...I would be happy to still have my own lungs, let alone being able to hold my breath. i think you're doing pretty good <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

HMMMM......I managed 25 seconds before seeing stars. I wonder what will happen when I do my albeuterol & pulmicort. I guess I will update when I do it!

i've actually timed how long i can do it lately.... so far, my longest (recorded) time is 1 minute, 22 seconds...
